Animated Storyboard

This is my final project from a storyboarding class I took at the NAD in Montreal. Here I created an animatic to showcase a couple of minutes of footage from a game I've been working on. It's anime, power rangers, gundam inspired.

Here I had the great good fortune to have my initial storyboard roughs analyzed and corrected by Storyboarding and Animation veteran Anik Lafrenière, whose work I've been watching since childhood. Quite an experience.

For this project, I started by creating a 2d rotational view of the character to get a good sense of the anatomy and placement whenever I needed to quickly redraw her in a different position.

I continued to use sketchup to map out my city and make spatial reference easier whenever creating a new frame.

I used sketchup to model assets for my storyboard. This is a console chair from inside one of the mechs.
